‘You Are a Miracle’ is Cudowna Fundacja’s main programme, created for current and future parents and grandparents. It draws attention to how we speak to children: our words, our tone and the everyday messages we give them about who they are and how much they matter.
We want children to feel valued and loved from their earliest years, to have the courage to try, to help others and to learn responsibility in everyday life — including looking after their surroundings. Their worth does not depend on success or on getting everything right.
Personalised mugs and the novel ‘Jesteś Cudem’ are the programme’s main tools. Illustrated booklets, stories and songs offer further ways to experience these values together. At the heart of it all is a caring adult who reads, listens, talks and leads by example.

A mug bearing a child’s name and the words ‘Jesteś Cudem’ — ‘You Are a Miracle’ — becomes a daily reminder of their worth.
Parents and grandparents can enquire about a mug with a child’s name. Giving it can open a conversation about what makes that child special. What matters most is the closeness and the words that accompany the gesture.

Ryszard Pikuła’s novel is the second main tool of the ‘You Are a Miracle’ programme. Meet Marek and his grandfather Anatol. Their story begins with a child’s joy in running and a mug bearing a special message. It follows their dreams, difficult experiences and discovery of the strength that comes from the love of those closest to us.
A story for future parents, young families, grandparents and everyone helping children grow up.
Language and availability: the novel and current illustrated booklets are in Polish. We plan to develop an English edition; no publication date has been announced.

The Light That Begins in a Child
In three different homes, hundreds of kilometres apart, an adult bent towards a child, a mug in hand.
In the first home, out in the countryside, a grandfather leaned against a bench beneath an apple tree. His legs were no longer steady, but his eyes were still young as he watched the boy finishing a run across the garden.
The boy’s name was Marek. He was six years old, his legs stained with grass, his heart filled with the urge to move.
‘Grandpa, did you see?’ he cried, breathless. ‘I caught up with the wind!’
His grandfather laughed, and his laughter held everything: pride, tenderness and fear of what life might bring.
‘I saw, my little miracle,’ was all he said.
From the box in his hand he took a white mug. On it was a photograph of a running boy, and beneath it the words: ‘Mareczek, you are a miracle.’
